Influence of different doses of nitrogen on contents of energy

INFLUENCE OF DIFFERENT DOSES OF NITROGEN ON CONTENTS OF ENERGY IN STALKS AND LEAVES OF WINTER WHEAT PLANTS

The goal of experiment is to find a quantity of net energy in 1 g dry matter in dependence of nitrogen quantity in nutrition solution. The duration of experiment is 80 days. The plants of winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) cultivars Astella, Estica, Ilona and Samanta were growing in pot experiments. Plants were placed in control temperature and light conditions, where luminary mode was 16 hours of light and 8 hours of dark. The intensity of lightning is 450 mmol.m-2.s-1, and temperature is 25 + 1 °C. Experiment was done in 1997-1998. There was used a Hoagland solution no. 3 as nutrition solution in a three variants: no. 1 (210,21 mg N.l-1) no. 2 (21,021 mg N.l-1) and no. 3 (840,84 mg N.l-1). Plants were taken away in juvenile phases of growing: 13. DC, 16. DC, 22. DC, 25.DC and 29. DC. Contents of energy was lowest in variant no. 2 ( 17,63 kJ.g-1) and highest in variant no. 3 (18,15 kJ.g-1). There was a contents of energy lowest in cultivar Astella (17,42 kJ. g-1) and highest in cultivar Estica (18,63 kJ.g-1). Statistically significant differences esere found at probability level a = 0,05 between Astella, Ilona, Samanta cultivars against Estica cultivar. Significant differences were found also between phases of growing: 13.DC, 16.DC, 22.DC against 25.DC, 29.DC and 16.DC, 22.DC, 25.DC against 29.DC. There were not found statistically significant differences between those variants but not even between different experimental years. We can make conclusion from this experiment that contents of net energy in 1 g dry matter is apparently stable value. This value dependence on individual genotype of cultivar. That is the reason why contents of net energy did not react stress cause with quantity of nitrogen in solution. More significant differences we can see at late cultivar Estica against early cultivars. The differences between single phases are considerable until phase 22.DC against following phases of growing at this experiment (29.DC). Contents of net energy grows together with growth of winter wheat plants.
